Using PurplePanel Bot

PurplePanel Bot lets you control and check on your game servers hosted with Purple Flag Hosting, right from Discord — no need to open the web panel.

Alpha release — PurplePanel Bot is still in development and use is currently limited to a chosen test group. Commands and behaviour may change, and you may run into rough edges — if something looks wrong, check the panel directly or reach out to support.

Before you start

To use the bot's commands, your Discord account needs to be linked to your Purple Flag Hosting panel account. Once linked, the bot can see the servers on your account and act on your behalf.

Linking isn't self-service yet — during the alpha, our support team links accounts manually. Reach out to support with your Discord username and panel account to get set up.

If your account isn't linked yet, typing a command will show a warning like “No panel account found for your Discord user” — reach out to support to get linked.

You can also only control or view servers you have access to on the panel — either as the server's owner, or as a sub-user with the appropriate permissions. If a command doesn't find a server you expect, double check you have the right permissions for it on the panel itself.

Adding the bot

PurplePanel Bot works two ways:

In a server

An admin adds the bot to your Discord server, so everyone with access can use it there.

As a personal app

Install it just for yourself and use it in DMs, without needing it added to a server.

Commands

All commands start typing the server name and offer autocomplete suggestions from your own list of servers.

CommandWhat it does
/status <server>Shows the current state, uptime, CPU, memory, and disk usage of a server.
/start <server>Starts a stopped server.
/stop <server>Stops a running server.
/restart <server>Restarts a server.
/pingQuick check that the bot is online.

What happens when you run a command

  1. 1The bot replies with “thinking…” while it talks to the panel.
  2. 2For /start, /stop, and /restart, the message updates live as your server changes state (e.g. starting → running), until the action finishes.
  3. 3Once complete, the message updates to a final result:✅ Success— action completed, with the server's final state shown.❌ Failed— the action didn't complete within 10 minutes, or an error occurred. If this happens, check the panel directly or try again — the action may still be processing.
